Yavar Khonsari

Yavar Khonsari is an architectural designer with 12 years of experience on a diverse set of projects. His studies and work has taken him to different places and have exposed him to different typologies, scales, and approaches to design. He has also worked in the fields of design research in academia and industry. Since joining Marvel in 2019 he has worked on design and construction of 3 phases of rockaway village, a large scale mixed use affordable residential project in Queens, NY. He has managed the team and lead the design for 126 Lafayette, a residential tower in SoHo. He has overseen the construction of Linden Middle School, a charter school in Brooklyn, and he is currently leading the effort for the design and construction for two landmark cultural adaptive reuse projects in Manhattan, with complex technical and strategic challenges. Before joining Marvel, he worked at three firms in New York (focusing on commercial, educational and residential projects), and in San Francisco, where he worked at a healthcare firm, as a junior product developer.
