Nuestro compañero delineante, Angel Jimenez, comienza su muy merecido retiro este mes despues de trabajar para Marvel desde 1979, en todas sus iteraciones.
Angel ha sido el corazón y la mano firme de nuestros estudios durante 46 años inolvidables. Siendo un delineante en todas las oficinas de Thomas Marvel, a Marvel & Marchand Architects, y luego a MARVEL San Juan y New York, Angelito siempre estuvo con nosotros: dibujando con gran habilidad y precisión, enseñando con paciencia y marcando el estándar de lo que realmente es un buen dibujo. Cada arquitecto que pasaba por su escritorio aprendía de Angelito algo esencial, ya fuera cómo leer correctamente un plano, cómo comunicar una idea con claridad o simplemente cómo cuidar del diseño. Su influencia está arraigada en los cimientos de tantos de los que compartimos con él, que es imposible medir cuánto se han fortalecido nuestros equipos gracias a su guía.
Pero lo que más recordaremos no es solo su talento, sino quién es. Angelito siempre ha sido el compañero de trabajo más humilde y sincero que cualquiera podría desear. Nunca pidió elogios, nunca buscó atención; simplemente llegaba cada día listo para ayudar, listo para enseñar y para apoyar a quienes le rodeaban. Su presencia hacía que la oficina se sintiera anclada, humana y cálida. Al entrar en su merecido retiro, no solo celebramos una carrera increíble: celebramos a un amigo, a un mentor y a alguien cuya amabilidad y generosidad nos moldearon más de lo que probablemente imagina.
En los últimos años, Angelito trabajó para algunos proyectos junto a la oficina en New York, pero el grueso de su carrera ha sido con la oficina de San Juan, desde las diferentes oficinas de Thomas Marvel, Marvel & Marchand y ahora Marvel. Cada persona de nuestro staff, en algún momento, ha sido marcada por su sabiduría y conocimiento de la profesión de arquitectura.

Seguiré yendo al banquito a “almorzar”, recordando cada historia, cada consejo y buscando siempre emular esos tres valores que aprendí de ti. Esto no es solo una despedida, sino una celebración de todo lo que nos dejas.

Our draftsman colleague, Angel Jiménez, begins his well-deserved retirement this month after working for Marvel since 1979, in all its iterations.
Angel has been the heart and steady hand of our Marvel studios for 46 unforgettable years. From being a draftsman at all of Thom Marvel offices to Marvel and Marchand Architects and then MARVEL San Juan and New York offices, he was always there—drawing with incredible and precise skill, teaching with patience, and setting the standard for what good drafting really looks like. Every architect who passed by his desk learned something essential from Angelito, whether it was how to read a plan properly, how to communicate an idea clearly, or simply how to care about design. His influence is built into the foundations of so many of us that shared time with him, that it’s impossible to measure how much stronger our teams became because of his guidance.
But what we’ll remember most isn’t just his talent—it’s who he is. Angelito has always been the humblest, most sincere coworker anyone could hope for. He never asked for praise, never sought attention; he just showed up every day ready to help, ready to teach, and ready to support those around him. His presence made the office feel grounded, human, and warm. As he steps into a well-earned retirement, we’re not just celebrating an incredible career—we’re celebrating a friend, a mentor, and someone whose kindness and generosity shaped us more than he probably realizes.
In recent years, Angelito worked on a few projects alongside Marvel New York, but the bulk of his career has been with Marvel San Juan, working at the various offices of Thomas Marvel, Marvel & Marchand, and now Marvel. Every member of our staff, at some point, has been influenced by his wisdom and knowledge of the architecture profession.

I’ll keep going to that little bench to “have lunch,” remembering every story, every piece of advice, and always trying to follow your example. This isn’t just a farewell it’s a celebration of who you are and everything you’ve left with us.
