Founding Partner
As a founding partner of Marvel, Lissa So has executed a visionary approach to designing cultural, educational, and public spaces that have empowered the people that they serve. With a goal of transforming communities through thoughtful and collaborative design, she has addressed both the local and global challenges of building community engagement and collective action. Lissa honed her expertise in theatre design by renovating St. Ann’s Warehouse, a project that has led to additional theatrical and cultural work including TheaterSquared, a new performing arts center in Fayetteville, AR, and the National Black Theater in Harlem. Lissa's commitment to community impact is evident in her work for numerous schools and community organizations like Brownsville’s Girls Empowerment Center, Brooklyn Public Library, and the YMCA of Greater New York. For more than 25 years, her projects have garnered hundreds of international and industry awards. Lissa attended Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where she studied architecture.
