Josh Schecter, AIA

Josh began his career as an actor, director, and designer in Chicago’s storefront theater scene. After working with several theaters in Chicago, he brought his knowledge and expertise to architecture, completing a master’s degree at the Harvard Graduate School of Design where he focused primarily on housing and theater design. Josh has worked at several offices in Boston
and New York, bringing his experience in both theater and design to several master plans and arts centers, as well as market rate and affordable housing.
Now with over 10 years of experience, Josh has worked across a number of sectors, including civic and performing arts institutions, higher education, K-12, and affordable housing. With a specific
focus on the renovations of existing institutions, he has led the design and project management for several of these project, most notably the Vineyard Theatre, the Center for New Jewish Culture, and the National Black Theatre.
