Justine Ala
Architectural Designer
Since joining Marvel in 2015, she has primarily focused on community and recreational projects such as the design of the new Northeast Bronx YMCA. Justine received her undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Florida. During this time she spent a semester at the Vicenza Institute of Architecture in Italy to study the historical, social, cultural, and physical aspects of the Veneto region. She received her graduate degree at the Harvard GSD where her thesis explored the possibilities of programming underutilized spaces underneath infrastructure in New York. Her previous professional work experience ranges from community-focused urban masterplanning and designing frameworks that support social interaction through public space.
