The Gilbane & Marvel team, in collaboration with New York City Department of Design and Construction, is designing a versatile community center in Brownsville - the Brownsville Youth Empowerment Center. The design integrates complex requirements with a biophilic approach, emphasizing green spaces and public interaction. Notable features include creatively massed building elements, a community garden, and well-lit workspaces. The design showcases a balance of efficiency, strategic space distribution, and energy optimization, aiming to achieve LEED Gold certification and make a significant positive local impact.
