Achievement First Endeavor Charter School
Achievement First Endeavor Charter School
Achievement First Endeavor Charter School is located on Waverly Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. This adaptive reuse project was a former ice cream factory and is connected to a new gymnasium via a glazed stair tower to accomodate 700 students from kindergarten through eighth grade.
The cellar level cafeteria receives natural light via a sky-lit areaway at the rear of the building.
Office spaces clad in metal panel are flanked by a glazed egress stair connecting all floors.
The oversized tinted precast concrete stair brings light into the central corridor and builds the sense of community within the school.
The roof level of the renovated classroom building is capped by an open playspace for the older grades, taking advantage of views out over Brooklyn and Manhattan.
