NJIT Alumni Lecture Hall
When renovating the Weston Alumni Lecture Hall for NJIT, Marvel divided the cavernous former lecture hall into a 160-seat space and 50-seat space, allowing for large-scale lectures and more intimate recitations. Seating and sightlines have been improved, creating an enhanced learning experience for students.
NJIT's signature red colorway was used the upholstery, linking the space to the greater university palette.
The smaller, 50-seat lecture hall offers a more intimate space for recitations and engaging with students.
Carpeted stairs and sound absorbing wall panels help reduce echo and audio reverb.
Ancillary spaces outside the lecture hall can be used for architecture reviews, pinups, and informal gatherings before and after class.
