Overture
Overture is a 145,000 SF mixed-use affordable housing community located on 141 South Lexington Avenue in White Plains, New York. The project begins with a masterplan to add hundreds of apartments to the center of White Plains, within the area.
Site
The plan looks to reknit the fabric of the city by demolishing the superblock currently known as Winbrook.
Proposed in a nine story block-and-plank building with a multi-faceted brick and metal façade will house 129 affordable one, two, three, and four bedroom units.
Amenities in the building will include onsite management, bike and package rooms, per floor laundry rooms, a fitness room, a playroom and a tenant lounge with a terrace. Each apartment with have individual split air conditioning systems. Existing residents of the Winbrook area will be the first to have access to the renovated apartments.
In addition, the building will activate the south Lexington streetscape with a community and outdoor green space and incorporate infrastructure upgrades for the future phases of the masterplan. The project will meet enterprise Green Community and NYSERDA standards and promote healthy living with active and passive areas along South Lexington and along the front of the building that prompt interaction and community building.
